Confidentiality
Information that identifies you, or anything you tell me is private and confidential. All of my notes are kept in a private, password protected encrypted file. My e-mail account is password protected and secure. I work in line with the Data Protection Act 2018. (GDPR).

However, I may need to break confidentiality in the following circumstances.

    > Where you give consent for confidentiality to be broken – e.g., a letter to a third-party professional

    > If there is a risk of serious harm, or where statutory law obliges me to do so. This includes risk of suicide, or a disclosure of harm towards any other adult or child – including that of a 3rd party. I will always do my best to discuss this with you first and seek advice from my supervisor, but that may not always be possible

    > I am obliged to have supervision, and aspects or themes of my work may be discussed. This is strictly confidential between me and my supervisor, and you would never be identified in any way

Contact Information
I will ask to take a note of your full name, telephone number and address. This information will only be accessed in the event of an emergency, such as if you become seriously unwell during a session. (this is essential if we are meeting either by telephone or on-line)

It is also desirable for me to have an emergency contact, which would only ever be used with your consent.

Contact details will be kept secure in line with data protection regulations.

Meetings take place either on-line via Zoom, or in-person from my room in Central Glasgow.

Meetings via on-line video link (Zoom)
To access our virtual therapy room, I will provide a unique zoom link that is personal only to us.

It is important that we meet in a private comfortable space, where disturbances are minimised as much as possible.

My broadband connection is usually very good; however, this can never be guaranteed 100% of the time. In the case of a technology breakdown on my side that prevents our meeting to go ahead, I will call you on your mobile number to let you know and to reschedule our session

If you experience a technology breakdown and are unable to go ahead with the session, please call or text my mobile number on 07474 605 180

Duration and timekeeping
Individual sessions last for 50-60 minutes

If sessions begin late due to rare, unforeseen circumstances on my part, then you will still be entitled to the full 50-60 minutes.

If you are late due to rare, unforeseen circumstances, then I shall do my best to be flexible and honour the full 50 minutes. (This may not always be possible, depending on my schedule).

Fees
Sessions are charged at £45.

In-person sessions can be paid at the end of each session either by cash, bank transfer or i-zettle card reader.

When meeting on-line via Zoom or phone: Payment should be paid by bank transfer as soon as possible after each session, ideally within 24 hours.

Cancellations
Cancellations should be given to the other at least 24 hours in advance, excluding emergencies. I will endeavour to give you advance notice of at least 2-4 weeks if I am going to be on holiday.

Privacy in Social Settings
I will always respect your privacy if I meet you in a social or public setting. Confidentiality is important, and therefore, we would not correspond, nor link up as ‘friends’ on private social media accounts. (you are, of course, welcome to interact with my Counselling-Glasgow Facebook account here)

Thank you for taking the time to read this document. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Time can also be set aside at our initial meeting to talk about any concerns you may have.
